Not sure if permanently disabling a safety feature is something your insurer would be ok with. My insurer out here in BC gives us 10% discount for having autonomous emergency braking AEB. Turns out two pieces of masking tape over the eyesight cameras works a treat. No more auto braking\auto steering etc. Start the Forester up, no codes or issues, start to drive and within 10 seconds of driving "Eyesight/Off" on the dash display... Ahh a normal vehicle again...

I mean everything as a whole is annoying and if you need the safety features to drive a car you probably shouldn't be driving.
