Dove manufacturing in Ohio only makes cylinder heads for FE motors, not 429/460's. They got their name from the founder, Jim Dove. This is not really related to the original question. This is not to be confused with the factory ford DOVE heads, which broken down, D stands for 1970's, O is the year. You guys are getting these mixed up.Dove's heads are mainly aimed at NHRA class racers. They start around $1800.00 for bare heads. You can expect these bare heads to have casting flaws and need machine work. Dove has none in stock typically and requires full payment in advance before they will build anything. I have just completed a change on my 532 from unported stock Dove's to ported Dooe-r's with ported stealth intake. Nothing else was changed or touched. When Dyno'd it only made six more horsepower and torque stayed about the same. The motor did require using another fuel pump as the old one wasn't ... Ford themselves 35 years ago found that the DOVE heads only needed the intakes cleaned up and the exh bump removed and then rework the high side of the port.
