Had a versys-x 300 (20,000 miles) and now have a crf300l (5,000 miles) both with ABS. X300 issues: heavier to pick up. plastic breaks easier even with engine guard. Mine had a crack due to a drop in which the rock missed the engine guard and hit the plastic. my x300 burns oil keeping it above 9,000 to 12000 rpms.I used the highway to get home very quickly, but mostly this is a country roads to the trails bike for me, cruising 40-60mph is very comfortable. DRZ400S wins no contest in the power department. DRZ has 34 whp/25.6 ft-lb vs KLX300's 23.4 whp/15.4 ft-lb.
