Well, I thought that my paladin certainly wouldn't leave a bunch of blood hungry murderers and even cannibals to just walk away, so I killed them. The game considered them non-hostile, so it meant that my paladin had broken her oath. This annoyes me a little bit, since I didn't consider these actions to be oath breaking, but oath enforcing.
