Breaking in a New Rifle: Bergara B14R. I picked up my first rifle, a B14R Carbon. I've got a scope mounted and I'm ready for the first range trip. I've been shooting pistols and this is my first rifle and first rimfire. I'm planning to attend a NRL22 match soon.
#1 · Sep 7, 2022. I'm trying to decide whether to go with a Vudoo or not. I currently own a CZ 457 Varmint Precision Chassis and a Bergara B14r Carbon. These guns are stock with zero modifications. The Bergara has only one option. From experience with multiple examples the T1X and CZ are practically the same with regards to accuracy. Interestingly, the T1X samples have been a little better with high velocity ammunition compared to the CZ. I prefer the bolt on the T1X and CZ to the Bergara.CZ 457 Varmint MTR vs Bergara B-14R. Soooooo, I have numerous CZ 452 and think very highly of them. Looking for my next toy and am intrigued by the 457 Varmint MTR. Held one a couple times and it fits me well. Also giving some thought to the Bergara B-14R. Haven't held a 22LR version, but have held a 6.5, so same chassis.

I have tested Bergara as well, and i have also CZ 457 Long Range Precision. But i must say that i like Bergara more than CZ. Stock is better. Trigger is better. It is more accurate than CZ. And more like a real rifle than rimfire, if that is what you are looking for. Tested 2 suppressors and SK rifle match ammo. 50-meters.The B14R achieved a sedate 1001 fps for 89.0 ft/lbs of energy, so very quiet with the A-Tec Wave mod and some superb 0.45" five-shot groups. Aftermarket barrel support is less than the CZ, but the CZ has less trigger and stock support than the Remington 700 pattern, but only slightly. Bergara also announced their new BMR(?) Which is a smaller 22lr sized action with similar design to the HMR, but is in the same price range of the CZ 457 Varmint.We both like it. My Bergara last time out shot groups in the .3-.5 inch range at 50 yards (SK RM). For me that's pretty good outdoors with a bit of wind. I doubt a steel barrel would shrink my groups.
