Glenfield 30a vs marlin 336.
Jan 19, 2012 · They are written up in Brophy's book. The 30 was the earlier version, then Marlin dropped the 30 and went to the 30A. I had one 30, which I sold, and I currently have a 30A. I'd like to have a 30 in nice shape. My brother has a 30 in 35 Remington which is one of the few Glenfields of either ilk that I have seen in 35 Remington.

For the 30A itself, it was the model following the Glenfield 30 - the difference being a full length magazine tube for the 30A. Over a quarter million of this model were made.
