2015 JK Rubicon 2dr. 114k miles. Mine does the same. I have spent a small fortune trying to find the issue. I’ve had it tested by 2 different mechanic shops for the head gasket issue and both said it’s fine. I’ve changed everything. It will drive for a week or so just fine then I’ll notice a day it will be running hot.Just got my new to me 2012 JK 2 days ago. Had it shipped it from Cali from a forum member I bought it off of. It has a Bully Dog GT tuner on it. Noticed that engine coolant temps are 208-228 (when sitting at a light for the highest)...avg of 210-215 while driving. However, its only 78 degrees outside here in Ft. Worth, TX.The reason they did this is they wanted the oil to be hotter and the exhaust gas temps to be lower. By having lower exhaust gas temps they were able to run 20% exhaust gas in the cylinder on the compression stroke rather than the normal 10%. Fan clutch is good and thermostat is new. Started to overheat after a trip to an ORV park but I washed the radiator out and its pretty clean on the outside. Test the O2 sensors, they can get old and slow to react. Typical O2 sensor service life is about 100,000-150,000 miles.
