Mostly that you can't drag and drop limit orders and there's no system for scaling in/out of trades. For example you can't set up tradovate to automatically take profit at a target and sell all but one of your contracts. Also the UI is kind of fucked sometimes and limit orders that you've canceled still execute on the tradovate backend.
You can get TV on tradovate for 10.99/month. From what I have heard tradovate might have a faster market data response time than AMP. I Have not tested this, but so far tradovate has been more than enough. Free platform. Comparable if not cheaper commissions than AMP. For scalpers i would say tradovate is the way to go if you get the commission free trading package. Other than that the platform is pretty laggy compared to quantower , ninja trader etc, but it is a good starter platform. I’ll look into this.

This is because I use SierraChart and Jigsaw. SierraChart has the most stable data connection and excellent trade copier and most customizable charts. Jigsaw has one of the best DOM. The tradovate unfortunately only allows tradovate or ninjatrader, which has lacking features for me. DOM sucks on both and ninja has efficiency issues.
Ninja Trader has an excellent charting platform and low margin rates. The downside is to take advantage of the full charting software you need to give them $1,000. Another disadvantage of ninja Trader is you only get two free withdrawals per month and after that they charge you plus there is a minimum of $250 per withdrawal.
So in this context Tradovate is superior if you're intra day/ day swing trading. NT is better if you know to code or want highly customizable systems to manage trades & you do not let your system go inactive. I like lifetime on NinjaTrader.
