Jake brake not working on high.
After it runs 40 seconds to 1 minute (depending on how cold it is), Jake goes off and engine runs fine. The only test I have done is to remove 1 wire from the buffer switch to see if that made any difference. It didn't. I have tried starting with Jake switch off, on LO, and on HI, and that made no difference either.

The most important thing to do though if you're using them on wet or snowy roads is to make sure you use them in conjunction with the foot pedal. The problem with Jake brakes is that they're only using your tractor drive tires to slow the vehicle. Too much braking force on a set of wheels can lock them up.

I'm guessing when you say the motor don't cut out that you mean the injectors keep firing. Also if your rockers are working properly that should create at least a slight stumble.
I have a cat 13 motor with Jake brake problems. Jake brake does not work in level 1. It does however work in mode 2 and 3. I get the fault 121-06 low/hi retarder. There would have to be alot of mod done to the 6.7 to get a Jake to work. The cost would not help neither, the newer diesel use exhaust brake. The only ones I see are on the Detroit, those are the older models DDEC'S and series 60. The new Internationals MaxxForce 13 use exhaust brake, which make you think why they are changing to exhaust.
