My L2501 handles a LA525 loader of topsoil well. In NE GA our topsoil has a fair amount of clay mixed with it. It is not full of organic matter. The L2501 should be similar in weight and dustribution to your L3901. I usually have A BB that weighs 360 lb along with a quick hitch that weighs 70 lbs on the back.
