Last I checked the best army was 4 cav + inf to full combat width, full combat width cannons. Reinforce with inf. So at 20 combat width it is 4 cav, 16 inf, 20 cannons. You should go slightly over width on infantry/cav you don't want those cannons touching the front line they take way more damage.
