I installed a '03 6.0 with mild cam in our '97 TJ. I went with the '05 - '06 TJ fuel pump (RockAuto), converted the 6.0 fuel rail to a return-less rail ('05 GM 2500 - salvage yard) and GenRight tank. The '05 - '06 TJ pump is to be used with a return-less fuel system. Fuel system works excellent.

The pressure line has a 5/16” quick disconnect and the return is an odd 3/8” quick disconnect that steps down to a 5/16” line. The rubber lines were replaced with 5/16” fuel injection hose and fuel injection clamps. Ditch the teed return line. That isn't doing you any good. Now connect it to the vent fitting that vents the rear (tallest) part of the tank so that the fuel is actually circulating back to the tank. I have a 89 jeep wrangler 258 6 cylinder with a fuel delivery problem. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and lines. It seems that the bypass on the fuel filter creats a vacumm and stops gas from going to the carb. If i pore gas into the card it starts and runs till that gas is used. Any thoughts or ideas would get ths 89 back on the road.

It's a 1990 Wrangler but the block numbers on the 258 say it's from the late 70s. Looks like its been swapped at some point with some nice headers, intake manifold, and carb. The problem though is the fuel lines.

Large one is 5/16 and the return is 1/4. But the 5/16 will supply enough to run a 350 tbi. A 89 yj with a 4.0 aw4 sye out of an 92xj. Now the hard part is done time to get it up in the air just a bit. Working on 8.8 with 3.73 and lsd for the rear. and new D30 hp with 3.73 .
