Barbara was born in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, April 4, 1943, to parents Frank H. and Elizabeth (McAfee) Moeller. While the family initially lived in Baltimore City, they moved to Glen Burnie in 1948. Mrs. Singleton managed the funeral home for 11 years, earning the Golden Rule Funeral Home distinction in 1959, until she too passed away in 1965. Leadership then passed on to a partnership between the two surviving children, Hope Singleton Ware and Richard V. Singleton.
