The Layton missions are OG to this game, but that being said, Layton and Hirch are also probably the least rewarding of the buncha maps as well Imo. There’s 70 side missions and 25 main ones for Layton Lakes District, and the majority of them are tracks, pictures, and at times, bagging a certain species under certain conditions like quick ... Although, after it spawns, you can leave the tower to hunt it down. The elk spawns 150 meters to the North East. It is a level 5 elk. Not sure if this is still working but there was a trick to get mission animals and ducks to respawn on lakes. It involves going to your lodge (but don't enter). Then go back to your map.

I know I have one blacktail deer southeast of the rope bridge in a sleep zone surounded by a lot of trees and bushes (very difficult to make a 200m shot there).Man that mission sucked the big one.
