Saying a pure DPS class will outdo a Shaman during all raids is inaccurate. It all depends on the RAID and the mechanics. - Melee have to wait for the mobs to get to RAID. DoTers/caster DPS can cast from afar and can already be loaded up on a mob before it even get into a "swinger's" range.
