When Valve showed off the box originally, people on the Steam Deck discord said "they'll have an outer box for shipping." Once devs started getting theirs, there was no indication of an outer shipping box. I'm surprised more Deck's haven't been stolen because Valve chose to save money by not using an outer box.

Over 99% of steam decks are delivered with zero problems. Take the day off, stand ready with a bat or 12 Guage and wait for it to arrive. I would install doorbell camera just for this alone, so if it is stolen you have proof. I would get a doorbell camera. If you can prove it was stolen, they will replace it.

As far as being deployed, the label was only created, technically FedEx never picked it up if the tracking is correct, and when I inquired about it being stuck that way on the 5th, Steam support told me to wait until the 11th had passed to contact them again about it.
