IBKR is a bitch to integrate with, alpaca is easy. I had the same execution experience with paper trading .. I imagine the live trading execution is better. I ran their scalping demo for a while and web sockets kept crashing. Never had a problem with web requests. Sorry I dont have an answer as I havent used IBKR only Alpaca. A world of data.
